On March 31, Wang Zhongyi, Director of the China and East Asia Office of Heriot-Watt University; Wang Ying, Regional Director for East Asia of Queen Mary University of London; and Li Yongtao, CEO of Tomato International Education, visited Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. Yan Ming, Vice President of the university, met with the guests. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the implementation of “3+1” bachelor’s-to-master’s programs, program alignment, credit recognition, student mobility, scholarship support, and faculty and academic exchanges.

Yan Ming introduced the university’s institutional orientation, disciplinary strengths, achievements in internationalized education, and talent cultivation system. He stated that the university has always adhered to an open approach to education, actively expanded exchanges and cooperation with high-level universities around the world, and worked to provide students with high-quality international learning platforms.

Wang Zhongyi introduced Heriot-Watt University’s general profile, global campus layout, and strengths in key disciplines, with a particular focus on the training model, core advantages, academic directions, and scholarship policies of the “3+1” bachelor’s-to-master’s program. He noted that Heriot-Watt University has distinctive strengths in business, finance, translation, and computer science, areas that align closely with YUFE’s academic programs and provide a strong foundation for cooperation. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation and jointly improve the quality of talent cultivation and the level of internationalized education.
